MISSION STATEMENT: The Mission of the Small Business Development Center is to provide accessible, affordable, and professional counseling, training, and resources to start-up and existing businesses, and assist them in various aspects of small business development. |
ENTREPRENEURIAL PROGRAMS: The SBDC conducts more than 300 entrepreneurial programs annually on topics and issues that are important to today's small-business owners. These low cost and no-cost workshops and seminars are taught by industry experts and SBDC professional counselors.
THE SBDC PROVIDES ITS CLIENTS WITH THE FOLLOWING SERVICES: - Free one-on-one business counseling - Free entrepreneurial training workshops - Low-cost entrepreneurial training seminars - The Business Resource Center - Custom corporate training.
HISTORY: Since opening its doors in 1980, the USF SBDC has assisted more than 100,000 entrepreneurs in Southwest Florida with their businesses to create/retain an average of 1,000 jobs each year and win government contracts worth over $100 million.
The University of South Florida Small Business Development Center is a member of the Florida Small Business Development Center Network and we serve the following counties: Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee, Hardee, Sarasota, Desoto, & Highlands.
